| Booking Phoenix Hotels when traveling on a budget |
| 03.22.05 (10:12 pm) [edit] |
To visit Phoenix is to visit a city that is as old as American history, which usually begins with the Spaniards. Here was their first settlement in strength as they struggled to conquer the native Indians with mostly disastrous results. From those beginnings, as the Spaniards gained ascendancy, and disappeared into the pages of history, Phoenix rose from the ashes and today is America’s sixth largest city. And befitting its stature and reputation as a great city, Phoenix offers a lot to the traveler. Malls, hotels, the Grand Canyon tours, live entertainment from great names in music, opera, and movies. Staying at a good Phoenix hotel could be hard on the purse of a budget traveler. People are friendly and go to great lengths to look after you.
Some budget and medium Phoenix hotels are Day’s Inn at the Phoenix Airport, La Quinta Inn Phoenix - Thomas Road, Sleep Inn Hotel Phoenix Airport, La Quinta Inn Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport, Comfort Inn- Phoenix, Best Western Papago Inn, Hospitality Suites Resort. For those not constrained by a budget, the Arizona Biltmore resort and Spa and Resort Suites of Scottsdale are inviting and well recommended. Most of Phoenix hotels are located near the city and are convenient to plan day trips in around the city. It is recommended that you book your Phoenix hotel early and avail discount prices. Begin your visit Phoenix tour with the great city as the hub to make day trips to the great outdoors and if you are adventurous enough, to stay overnight at one of the many campsites. One can make day trips to the Sunset Volcano / Wapatku National Monument, very close to Flagstaff with incredible sunrises. Useful resource: Phoenix hotels. One visit Phoenix option is a drive through the Grand Canyon, drove through the Sonoran National Monument and the Organ Pipe National Monument; to Chiricahua National Monument it would be a fantastic drive with hiking trips. Be sure to leave early by 4:30 so you can return to the hotel by 9 PM.
Another choice on a visit Phoenix tour that you have is take a day’s hiking in the Superstition Mountains just east of Phoenix. Take the Peralta Trail onward to the Fremont Saddle, which overlooks Weaver's Needle. On our trip we saw several families and many with teenage children. It will take about 4 hours for the round trip. The hike rewards one with several beautiful scenes, waterfalls, saguaro cacti, and amazing rock formations. The best part of this visit Phoenix trip is the heavenly view of the Needle from the top.
